Journal Reflection (Implementing NCAF)

I had observed my associate teacher in her lesson delivering in year 7, at TUC 1 JSS. The first time I arrived in the classroom, I noticed that it was well organized as well as students. The teacher did her teaching in the moral education subject and I noticed that she had implemented the NCAF in her lesson delivering. She picked her topic from the syllabus and create her lesson plan from it. As she was teaching her students of the moral education subject on the topic of respect. She introduced and elaborate the learning outcomes as well as the note to students. She also allowed her students to relate their topic to their real life experience in ways of telling the students to carry out their skits based on respect and how to be respectful in their own community or at home. The activities she displayed on the board for students are clear and easy for students to understand, it matched the learning capability of students. She sought the students’ prior knowledge of the topic and then add on to their understanding by elaborating more about the topic and the note.

Additionally, students are engaging well in the learning process because their teacher did her best in doing her lesson delivering. They did their work properly and participated accordingly to any tasks they assigned for. I could also notice that some students are annoying and did not want to do their work but the teacher was flexible in controlling their misbehavior and let them do their work. Overall, while observing this teacher and I noticed that she has implemented the NCAF in her lesson delivering from the beginning till the end in a way that she selects the topic from the syllabus and designed or unpack learning outcomes from it. Her lesson delivering is clear and was helpful for students in their learning progress. Thus, it is necessary for teachers as well as teacher trainees to consider the implementation of NCAF in their teaching as it played vital role in the academic successfulness of students.
